SUMMER
Here come’s summer and what a way to start than to beat Cork in the Munster final. Anyway a good game and always friendly rivalry with our good Camp Corkonians !! Well done Kerry.
THE GATHERING
Camp Cash Cow event to be held on Sunday August 4th. is Camp’s answer to the Gathering. So all you family and friends of Camp far and wide, mark that date in your diary and help us to make it a great day and a great fundraising event for our Community Sports Field. Camp Community Council are organising a huge array of events on the day, Dog Show, Novelty Sports for Adults and children, Soccer, Penalty Shoot Out and lots more. A barbeque in the field so no need to cook dinner that day ! Its a day out for all the family. Tickets to partake in the Cash Cow Event are E10.00 and every penny goes to the Community Sports Development fund. Guess the spot where the cow does her business on the day and the winner will receive E500.00. Well worth a guess !!
CAMP UNITED NIGHT AT THE DOGS
Camp United Soccer enjoyed a great night at the Dogs at The Greyhound Stadium in Tralee on Saturday night last. Afterwards they all went down town to see “Turf” playing in The Blasket Pub. By all accounts it was like being in Camp with so many people there supporting our local band and some class dancing too I hear !! The winner of E500 on the night was Michael Farrell.
WEDDING
Congratulations to Brian O Shea, Kilteenbane, Camp and Tracy Walsh, Tralee who were married recently in St. Brendans Church, Curraheen. May they be enjoy many years of health and happiness in their life together !
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
Dan Mulcahy, Garrahies celebrated his 84th birthday on 12th July last, also celebrating a birthday on that date was Margaret Ashe, Ashes Bar, Camp and near neighbour Bridie Moran, Ballinknockane too celebrated a mammoth birthday on 14th July when she reached her 94th birthday. All are hail and hearty and enjoying good health. Congratulations, go maire sibh an chéad !!
CELEBRATION OF LIGHT
Recovery Haven Cancer Support House ,Celebration of Light is taking place on Sunday 21st, at 8pm in Abbeyfeale, Ballybunion, Banna, Camp, Dingle, Fenit, Inch, Killarney, Killorglin, Portmagee The symbolic lighting of candles creates a very special atmosphere, people are united and hope is renewed. Through solidarity and light our sincere aim is to bring hope to our community”. All candles to be lit at 8pm on 21st July.
CORCA DHUIBHNE PASTORAL AREA PILGRIMAGE
A Pilgrimage Walk and Mass will be celebrated at Sagart Mass Rock, Coumdubh, Annascaul on Friday 26th. July at 7.30 p.m. Rev. Ray Brown who is to be ordained Bishop of the Diocese of Kerry on 21st July is to celebrate the Mass on the evening which will be a very special and momentous occasion for the parish and the pastoral area of Corca Dhuibhne. As the terrain near and approaching the Mass Rock is unsuitable for cars, all taking part are asked to congregate at Annascaul Bridge. A Bus will take people from Annascaul Bridge (beginning at 6.00pm) to Annascaul Lake from where the Pilgrimage Walk will begin. Afterwards people will be taken by bus back down to Annascaul Bridge. And to conclude everybody is invited to a “Cupán Té” at the Annascaul Community Centre. All welcome !

And all our local Limerick friends are delighted with the Limerick Hurling victory over Cork yesterday crowning them Munster Champions after a 17 year gap. Up Limerick !!
