DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING

CPR and Defibrillator refresher training with qualified instructor on Saturday 2nd March in the Old School, Camp  from  3 p.m. to  4.00 p.m.  All welcome.

MIKEY O DONNELL DARTS MEMORIAL

The final of the Mikey O Donnell Darts Memorial will be played off  in The Junction Bar, Camp on Friday 8th. February.   The tournament commenced in Bolands Bar, Castlegregory last Friday night and great darts were played all round, indeed a fitting tribute to young Mikey O Donnell R.I.P. who loved his game of Darts.    All welcome at The Junction Bar on Friday night.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION INVITE !

Dai Williams is returning to Ashes Pub in Camp to celebrate his  60th birthday on Friday, February 15th. starting at 9.00 p.m.    Many of you will remember Dai who worked in ITTralee and lived down Camp Height for many years.   Everybody is welcome to the party  and  in particular  Dai would love to meet all those revellers around Camp with whom he enjoyed the craic in the old days !!

IFA

The  AGM of The Kerry Irish Farmers Association elected Sean Brosnan to serve as Chairman of the organisation for the next 4 years in The Manor West Hotel, Tralee on Monday night.    It was a tight contest with Kenny Jones, Tralee and Pat O Driscoll of Valentia putting in a huge performance.    Pat O Shea, Castlegregory  Treasurer IFA Kerry presided over the election.    James McCarthy, Currow, Castleisland,  outgoing Chairman was praised for his great work during his 4 year term.  Justin McCarthy newly appointed Editor of The Irish Farmers Journal led a lively discussion on farming issues,  the CAP agreement and cuts in subsidies and other developments in farming being top of the agenda on the night !

ANNASCAUL GAA

The senior team will play Castlegregory in the West Kerry League this coming Saturday in Annascaul. The game is provisionally fixed for 2.00pm.  In other GAA news, Jason Hickson and James Crean are impressing with the Kerry Under-21’s so far this year, scoring 0-5 and 1-3 respectively in a recent challenge game.  Let’s hope they can continue their good form and make the panel for the Munster clash against Cork on March 13th.

CANCER FUNDRAISER FOR RECOVERY HAVEN AND KERRY CORK HEALTH LINK

Sigerson Legends Football Cancer fundraising challenge will take place on Friday 15th February at 7.30. P.M. in Austin Stacks Park Tralee. The game will feature the current I.T. Tralee Sigerson team taking on a selection of the three in a row I.T. Tralee Sigerson Cup winning team of the 1990’s and guests. The legends team includes Padraig Joyce from Galway, Kerry legends Maurice Fitzgerald, Seamus Moynihan, Darragh O’ Se and Mike Frank Russell. Come along for a great night’s entertainment in aid of two cancer charities who help so many patients and families through difficult times. Tickets to the game are priced at only 5 (five)  Euros, with children under 16 free. Tickets available in Garvey’s Supervalu, and Horan’s Fruit/Veg stores countywide, and from your local GAA club secretary.

TAEKWON-DO

Taekwon – Do classes for children are held every Monday evening in camp Old School. The children are really enjoying the fun and games, while learning such an important life skill.
There are two classes for different age groups.
Age 4-6 starts at 4pm-4:45pm
Age 7-12 starts at 5pm-6pm.
