CAMP NOTES – 24TH SEPTEMBER 2018
CAMP FAIR
Rumours of hurricanes and storms did not put off people from coming to Camp Fair on Tuesday last. Sheep were sold and bargains made from early morning and the Sheep Show, Pet Show and Face Painting in the afternoon drew lots of animals and local children showing off their pets. The entry in the Pet Show and the Sheep Show was very big this year and despite a few showers in the morning, the sun came out in the afternoon ! Mary Casey from Annascaul whose birthday falls on Camp Fair day celebrated with her friends in Camp and Mary who has a beautiful singing voice entertained us again this year in Ashes Pub. And the music, dancing and craic continued until late in all the pubs and the mutton pies were sold out by the end of the day in Upper and Lower Camp. Delicious as always, it wouldn’t be Camp Fair Day, if you didn’t have a pie.
