Ned O Shea Crowhill, Annascaul and The Merchant and O Sheas Hotel, Dublin passed away peacefully on Saturday 18th August last Ned was a true legend in his own lifetime, a loyal and proud Kerryman and Annascaulman. The Merchant was and still is the headquarters for all Kerry people in Dublin up for All Irelands or indeed for any other occasions.

Kerry man of the Year and Chairman and President of The Kerrymans Assoiciation, Dublin and playing music for Bill Clinton, former Presdident of America in the Whitehouse, Ned took it all in his stride and when a neighbour or musician from West Kerry came into the Merchant, the salutation from Ned was “ have you a bed for the night” He was a humble man who never forgot his roots.

Ned surely epitomised the quote from the Poem of Rudyhard Kipling“ during his lifetime, He did indeed “walk with kings and not lose the common touch “

Ned will be sadly missed by everybody who knew him. Sympathy is extended to his sons and duaghters John, Pat and Cathal, Geraldine, Noranne and Teresa, His siter Nora, grand children, great grand children, sons in law, daughters in law, exrended family. and friends.

THE FESTIVAL

The Festival of Kerry is always one of the greatest closing events of the summer in Tralee and around the county of Kerry too. And the fun and great atmosphere of the occasion has always spilled out to us in Camp too. And last week when the Roses came to lunch at Ashes Bar and Restaurant, there was none more delighted and excited than the local children whose admiration for the lovely Roses was palpable.

Afterwards they headed down to Sandy Feet Pet Farm and onto Maharees for a Jaunt with Denny Cronin. And the parish had a Rose Escort too, Daniel O Connell from Inch was an escort to 2 of the roses over the week in Tralee. And Ocean View Nursing Home had their own party with music and dance and staff donning Rose sashes and the residents loved it.
