OBITUARY
One of our much loved local characters Pat Crean, Knockgloss Beg, Camp passed away peacefully on Sunday 16th June. Pat was a great storytellers always engaging, his easy style of delivery and attention to detail, the hour, day, time, where and when it happened always enthralled his audience. He loved to talk and share his wonderful memories of Camp long ago. Pat was a happy content man, never in a hurry, he had time for everybody. Ni Bheidh do léitheid arís ann. Pat was laid to rest in Ballinknockane Cemetary, Camp following requiem Mass at St. Marys Church on Wednesday morning. Pat is survived by his brother Tom, sisters Sr. Teresa Ann and Sr. Catherine, sisters in law Kitty and Maureen, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces, many relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended.
Sympathy is extended to the Baker and O Sullivan families, Baile Uachtarach, Baile an Feiriterigh on the sad death of Bríd Baker. Bríd’s sister Nóirín Deane resides in Knockglossmore, Camp. Go nDéane Dia trócaire ar a h-anam dilís.

Corca Dhuibhne Pastoral Area Pilgrimage Walk & Mass at Sagart Mass Rock, Coumdubh,Annascaul will take place on Friday, 26th July.

The Annual Camp Cash Cow will be held on Sunday, August 4th. in Camp Community Field. A great day out for all the family. All proceeds go towards the Camp Community Field Development fund. Next Meeting – Thursday, 27th June 8.00 p.m. Old School, Camp.
INDIA PROJECT
Jonathan Deane wishes to thank everyone who supported him in his fundraising to aid his trip to India. Aughacasla National School, 300euro, No Uniform Day. Pub Quiz in Ashes Bar, Camp 6030 euro and Garveys Dingle bag packing 733 euro. The Deane Family are most grateful to everyone who helped in any way to make this possible. As you may be aware Jonathan is very near the flooding at the moment and this as he said is an awful experience to see so many lives lost. We all wish him well.

Get out and keep fit. Camp ICA ladies go on a walk every Wednesday morning. They meet in O Dwyers/Londis in the village around 9.30 am. They take a different walk every week and it’s great fun and great exercise. Join them and you’ll love it !!

DINGLE TRAIN
Rachel Redshaw, Great Grand Daughter of the ill fated Dingle Train driver Alfred Redshaw who lost his life in the Curragh Dubh bridge train crash visited Camp recently. A native of Canada Rachel was shown around by Mike O Neill, Railway Tavern and she was really amazed and very nostalgic recalling the memories and stories which were related to her about her Great Grand father. She met with Michael O Shea, Curradubh whose has wonderful memories of the train and before heading back to Dublin by train Rachel visited Alfred Redshaws final resting place in Tralee. Other members of the Redshaw family who live in Wales are planning to visit in the near future. Alfred Redshaw R.I.P.
JAMIE WRENN CANCER WALK
Over 80 people walked from Tralee to Castlegregory in the Jamie Wrenn Annual Cancer Walk in aid of the Cork/Kerry Cancer bus. The group stopped for refreshments in The Junction Bar and later were served food at Bolands Bar, Castlegregory where Des Kelliher and Band provided a lovely session of music. Well done to all who supported this event and to those who organise it every year.

GAA/SENIORS
We prevailed in a high scoring encounter in our county league game at the weekend, beating St. Pats on a score line of 5-9 to 2-9. Best for us were Emmet Kennedy, Colm Barry, Genie, and James Crean ( Who scored 3-7).
B TEAM: Our Junior team qualified for the semi-final of the county league on Friday last, despite going down to a strong Dingle team. The semi-final is fixed for this coming Friday, against Castlegregory. Venue to be confirmed.
