STORIED KERRY A Meitheal Consultation Conference led by Frank Lewis was held in Killarney last Saturday.  The  gathering was  to celebrate and promote the story of Kerry and Kerry’s stories, the day was both inspiring and interesting.  District representatives lead thematic workshops and discussions.

Dr. Criostóir Mac Carthaigh, National Folklore Collection, UCD, Dr. Richard McElligott, UCD and  Batt Burns, Seanachaí were among the panel of eminent speakers on the day.

And there was story telling too,  Sean Lyons, Tralee and Killorglin’s own Eamonn Edso Crowley had the house in peals of laughter telling stories in their own inimitable way and some with a moral to them too.  Long may the art of story telling continue and grow  in our county, unique to us all in Kerry.
