CHRISTMAS CEREMONIES Christmas Eve – Celebration of Mass – 7.30 p.m. St. Marys Church, Camp Christmas Day – Celebration of Mass -10.00 a.m. St Marys Church, Camp OBITUARY The death of Teresa Mulcahy, nee (Fogarty) Fulham, London and formerly of Nenagh Co.Tipperary occurred recently. Teresa was laid to rest in Ballinknockane Cemetary Camp on Thursday alongside her late husband Michael Brendan Mulcahy of Garrahies, Camp who passed to his eternal reward 21 years ago. Fr. John Buckley, PP celebrated the requiem Mass at St. Marys Church, Camp. Teresa is survived by her sons Michael and John, sister Kit, daughters in law Sarah and Beate, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives & friends to whom sympathy is extended. It was with great shock and sadness that the people of the area learned of the death of Richard Greensmyth, Railway Terrace Tralee and Beheenagh, Camp last week. Richard was popular and well liked and he will be sadly missed by his family and by his many friends. The Requiem Mass on Sunday was concelebrated by Fr. John Buckley PP and Fr. Kevin Sullivan Chaplain ITTralee. Richard’s funeral was huge on both days and people came from far and near to pay their last respects to him. Richard was laid to rest at Ballinknockane Cemetary, Camp on Sunday. Sympathy is extended to his son Kevin, daughter Gillian and their mother Helen, sisters, Mary, Eileen and Geraldine, brothers, John, Kieran, Gerard, and Noel, Mother in Law, Maureen, extended family, many relatives and friends. Richard’s daughter Rachel predeceased him and his mother Peggy also passed to her eternal reward earlier this year R.I.P. CAMP COMMUNITY COUNCIL WALK AND REINDEER VINTAGE CAR RUN – Want to shake off those extra Christmas pounds and support Camp Sports Field Development, then come out on Saturday 28th December and walk from Camp To Annascaul through the Dingle Way. And to add to the experience you can take a drive home in style in a vintage motor car, as coinciding with the walk an array of fancy Cortinas and more will take off from Camp on a tour around the Peninsula, they will arrive in Annascaul in time to transport you back to Camp where lovely refreshments will await you at The Old School. And its all being organised by The Camp Sports Field Committee, so get out the walking shoes and some layers of warm clothes and suitable wet gear and join us for the fun of it !! Register at The Old School at 9.45 to 10.15 a.m. BRENDAN BAWNIE O DRISCOLL Annascaul GAA Club has decided to permanently honour the memory of their former footballer Brendan Bawnie O’Driscoll by naming the Covered Stand at the Paddy Kennedy Memorial Park in Annascaul, The Brendan Bawnie O’Driscoll Memorial Stand.Brendan Bawnie O’Driscoll was a star performer for the club until his untimely death at 28 years of age after collapsing while playing a West Kerry Championship game for Annascaul at the Paddy Kennedy Memorial Park in November 2011. Annascaul GAA Club believe that this permanent memorial is a fitting honour for Brendan who graced the playing fields of Kerry with Annascaul and West Kerry with his skills and footballing ability before his untimely death.The naming ceremony will take place at Paddy Kennedy Memorial park on Sunday December 29th at 2.00pm. The programme of events for the day are as follows; 2.00 pm Senior football match between West Kerry & Dingle. 2.30 pm The blessing and official naming of the Brendan Bawnie O’Driscoll Stand. Refreshments will be provided in the Community Centre. There will be no admission charge for the event; donations will be accepted for the Acquired Brain Injury Charity and the Brendan O Driscoll Scholarship Trust.
