CAMP CASH COW
Camp Cash Cow went off well on Sunday despite the odd shower of rain ! The cow obliged and did her business around 5.30 p.m. and the lucky lady who pinpointed the spot is Cork woman Fiona Aherne currently holidaying in John O’Shea’s, Shore Acre Caravan Park in Camp. There was great excitement too at The penalty Shootout and local Dáil Deputies showed that saving goals is no easy task and our local Compere Séan Barry was as good as Radio Kerry’s Wishey Fogarty any day noting every kick of the ball and every move made ! Jason Higgins, Cork and Stephen Lyons from Limerick won trophies for the highest scores, well done lads and to the lady organisers Norah Crean and Frances O Connor. Tommy Finn from Lougher with his Dog Max won a prize too and the relay races organised by Tony Casey were great fun with great participation from U/4’s to u/8’s boys and girls. Bonny Babies winners were – William O shaughnessy U/2 and his sister Mercedes won the U/1 category. Tickets sales for the Cash Cow event raised E5,360 and between contributions and donations the event has earned Camp Community Council a very healthy E6,000. All proceeds going towards the Camp Sportsfield Development Fund. Camp Community Council wishes to thank all who helped out in any way on the day and those who contributed so generously and Jack Crean who provided us with the cow again this year ! Go raibh Míle Míle maith agaibh go léir !
